Sign in once, then learn offline
Master a language offline, at your own pace.
Aureloo is a calm vocabulary and grammar companion for Android. It asks you to sign in once — after that it works without a connection, and without anybody watching what you study.

Learning without the noise
What Aureloo does and does not do with your data, checked against the app's own source code and dependency list rather than promised.
Works offline once you are in
Your words, your folders and your practice history live in a database on your phone. After the sign-in, Aureloo needs no connection to teach you anything.
An account is required
You sign in with your email address or with Google before you start — there is no guest mode — so the first run needs a connection. A sign-up with an email address is confirmed through a link emailed to that address. Your email address reaches Firebase Authentication; with Google, your display name and photo do too. What the optional extras add is in the privacy policy.
No adverts
There is no advertising library in the app. Not a quiet one, not a personalised one. None at all.
No tracking
No analytics, no crash reporting, no advertising SDK and no attribution service. Nobody builds a profile of how you use Aureloo. The one thing the app ever reports about your practice belongs to the invite programme, and the privacy policy says exactly what it is.
How the learning works
A patient, repeatable method. You meet a word often enough to keep it, and then you stop meeting it so often.
The method
Spaced repetition
Aureloo brings each word back at the moment you are most likely to be about to forget it, and pushes the next review further out every time you get it right. Words you find difficult return sooner; words you already know get out of your way.
- Each word is scheduled on its own, not as part of a fixed lesson
- Difficult words come round more often, without you managing anything
- Your progress is something you can see, not a hidden score
Six ways to practise
Read and translate, translate back, listen and match, write and match, say the word aloud, and take dictation. The same word met six different ways is a word you actually know.
Three word games
Pair Match, Swipe and Word Rain. Short rounds that turn revision into a break rather than another task.
Grammar, built in
A grammar pack ships inside the app — there is nothing to download — so you read and practise it offline, next to the vocabulary it belongs to. The English pack holds fourteen A1 topics; three of them are open on the free plan.
Every day, and with friends
Three small things around the learning itself. Use them or leave them — the method above works either way.
A daily streak, with reminders
Finish one practice test or one game round and the day counts. A flame at the top of the screen shows how many days in a row, and once a week an ice day covers a day you miss. Your phone can remind you — at most once a day, scheduled on the phone itself, with no server behind it. One switch in Profile turns the reminders off.
Send to a friend
Choose a nickname, and send one of your folders, a whole category or a grammar rule you wrote to a friend's. They see who it is from and decide whether to take it; what nobody accepts expires 24 hours after it was sent. Sending is free. Accepting what a friend sends is part of Pro.
Invite friends, earn Pro
Share your invite code or link. When three friends you invited have each practised on three days, you get a month of Pro — up to three months that way, and a year more at twenty friends. Your friends get the app; the reward is yours.
The exact rules for sending, promo codes and invitations are in the terms of use.
Your words stay yours
Everything you create lives on your phone. Connect Google Drive and your words follow you to a new phone too — and even then they never pass through us.
- Only with your permission
Aureloo never asks for Drive when you sign in. Sync stays off until you tap Connect Drive in Profile, and only then does it ask Google for its one permission. The app is complete without it.
- It goes to your Drive, not to us
When you sign out, your words are sent to your Drive first, and when you sign in on a new phone and connect the same Drive, they arrive there. Sync never touches a server of ours. The one time words of yours reach our server is when you choose to send some to a friend: that copy is deleted as soon as your friend accepts or declines it, and expires after 24 hours if they do neither.
- Aureloo cannot see your other Drive files
It asks Google for one narrow permission: a hidden folder of its own inside your Drive. That permission cannot open your documents, your photos or anything else you keep there. It is not a promise we make — it is what the permission allows.
- You can take it back at any time
Remove Aureloo's access in your Google account and sync simply stops. The app keeps working and your words stay on your phone.
The exact permission, and what it does and does not allow, is written out in the privacy policy.
What is free, and what Pro adds
The free version is a whole app rather than a countdown. These are its actual limits, and two of them are deliberately no limit at all.
Free
For as long as you like
- All six practice modes, and all three word games — two rounds of each game a day
- Two hundred of the five hundred starter words — four of the ten folders they arrive in; the other six stay visible and wait for Pro
- Two hundred words of your own at a time — typed or pasted, and deleting one frees the slot
- Ten folders of your own
- As many categories as you want
- Three topics in every grammar pack
- Google Drive sync, manual and automatic, with no limit
- Send your folders, categories and grammar rules to friends — up to ten sends a day
Pro
Everything in Free, and then
- The other six starter folders — the remaining three hundred words
- Unlimited folders and unlimited words of your own
- Unlimited rounds of every word game
- Every topic in every grammar pack
- Accept the categories, folders and grammar rules that friends send you
- Edit the folders that come with the app, and add new words to them
Sync is never limited, on purpose. The words you write are your own writing, and an app should not make it hard to keep them safe or to take them to your next phone.
Pro is sold through Google Play in three plans: monthly and yearly subscriptions, which renew until you cancel them in Google Play, and a lifetime plan you pay for once. The price is the one Google Play shows you before you confirm. Pro belongs to your Aureloo account rather than the phone — sign in on another phone and it is there too.
